Mark Martinovic, President & CEO, is a 28-year veteran of the hotel industry. Having grown up in a hotel from the age of 5, Mark founded Hotel Spec in 2003. Drawing from his life experience in the hospitality industry, Mark created a specialist consulting firm dealing with all aspects of hotel design, project management, development and technical services, procurement, installations and commissioning of new and refurbished hotel properties.

Prior to forming Hotel Spec, Mark worked in the hotel industry for 15 years in Southern Africa and in the UK. Including properties like the Palace of the Lost City at Sun City, Wild Coast Sun Hotel, Resort and Casino, Kensington Palace Hotel, and others, Mark gained experience from Restaurant Management, Banqueting, Housekeeping, Rooms Division Management and held the position of Hotel Manager on Renaissance Cruises, Food & Beverage Director of the Palace at Sun City, Hotel Manager Serenite Resort amongst others.

Mark holds a Bachelor Degree in Hotel Management and is a Professional Member of the Foodservice Consultants Society International, a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants and a member of Project Management South Africa (PMSA).

Arno Kukkuk, Vice President Procurement. A procurement professional with over 20 years’ experience in hospitality procurement services. Arno began his career in furniture manufacture, moving on to Project Management in the Hospitality industry for FFE and OS&E procurement and fit-out projects. Prior to joining Hotel Spec, Arno worked throughout the Middle East for 11 years with Parker Company, Fino International and Cairncross Martin and successfully executed the Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi, Kempinsky Bahrain, Hilton Dead Sea Resort and Burj Dubai, Armani Hotel & Apartments and Madinat Jumeirah phase III, amongst others.

Bianca Martinovic, Vice President Business Development, responsible for growing the business in the Americas region. With being at Mark’s side since the inception of Hotel Spec, Bianca understands all aspects of the business and services.  Bianca was instrumental in the start-up and development of the procurement service of Hotel Spec.  In addition, she has 10 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing in the upmarket furniture business as owner and General Manager of a successful import, retail and wholesale business.

George Massa CHA, Senior Vice President, Consulting Services. George has 43 years of professional services experience in the USA and Latin America hospitality industry. From 2004-2016 George was VP Development and Managing Director Hilton Worldwide Latin America, where he drove Hiltons expansion across the region. He spearheaded the development of this corporation in markets like Peru, Costa Rica and Mexico; being directly responsible for the growth of Hilton Worldwide brands (with a presence of less than 15 hotels back then) in Latin America to more than 46 hotels in Mexico alone, tripling the number of hotels in operation.

During his earlier career in Peru he was the Director of Operations for all 33 hotels owned at that time by Enturperú. Massa studied business administration at the Catholic University and the University of Lima in Peru. A native of Peru, he is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Hamish Mac Lennan B.Sc (QS) MRICS, PMASAQS, NIQS, Vice President Technical Services. With over 30 years of experience in Construction Management, Project Management and Quantity Surveying throughout Africa, Hamish leads the Technical Services team of Hotel Spec. Hamish previously was country head for Aecom in Nigeria, was the founder and CEO of MWS Engineering services and has successfully completed more than 30 hotel projects on the African continent.

Etienne Steyn BTec QS, Procurement Manager. Etienne has 17 years’ experience in construction cost management in Southern Africa, UK, Bahrain, UAE and Seychelles. With four years’ experience on mega projects ($500m +) in the Middle East, Etienne’s experience ranges from hotels, refurbishment projects and master planning Mixed-use urban developments.

Augustine Uwagboe BSc (Eng.), Project Manager. Augustine qualified as a Civil Engineer in 1998 and to date has worked throughout Nigeria on numerous development projects including residential and hotel projects. With core skills in construction project management, works coordination and quality management, Augustine is based permanently in Lagos, Nigeria and fills the role of site Project Manager

Daniel Venter, Procurement Manager. Daniel’s background in high-end luxury furniture design and manufacture brings a level of class and unsurpassed quality management to the procurement division. Daniel worked with Minerva Furniture of Berlin, Germany and Hospitality Classics, and has held the position of Deputy Hotel Manager at Langrish House Hotel in Hampshire, United Kingdom. With his combined furniture design, manufacture and hotel operations experience, Daniel is an experienced and key leader of the company’s procurement division.

Working in the background, is a dedicated team of logistics managers, procurement specialists, clerks and hospitality professionals who, combined, bring a further 100 years plus of hotel experience and dedicated attention to each and every project.

Furthermore, Hotel Spec has a considerable network of professional hotel experts on hand in all spheres of hotel design & development to support the growth of the company as well as being able to step in when new projects are acquired. Giving the assurance to our clients that we are within short notice able to provide the human resources that any project requires.

Hotel Partners Africa is an alliance of three leading hospitality consultancies, with considerable expertise throughout Africa: W Hospitality Group, Hotel Spec and Leisure Property Services.
